Nikon SLM Solutions Announces Groundbreaking Advancement with Valiant Products Inc. in Large Metal Additive Manufacturing
Lübeck, Germany – Thursday, October 7th, 2023 – Nikon SLM Solutions, a trailblazer in large format Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) machines, is thrilled to announce a landmark advancement in metal additive manufacturing (AM) capabilities through a strategic collaboration with Valiant Products Inc. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of AM technology, particularly in the aerospace, defense, and energy sectors.
Valiant Products Inc., a company with a rich 50-year history in pioneering manufacturing technologies, has recently enhanced its portfolio with the acquisition of Nikon SLM Solutions' NXG XII 600 machine, boasting an option to upgrade to the 1.5-meter Z height. This acquisition, to be used with alloy Inconel 625 and 718, propels Valiant Products Inc. into a premier position within the Americas, offering unparalleled speed with 12 lasers and the substantial capacity of a 600 mm square build chamber. The capability for immediate ejection of the build chamber paves the way for accelerated, serial AM production.
The integration of the NXG XII 600 into Valiant's production line solves critical industry challenges by facilitating the creation of large, intricate geometries with shortened lead times that currently restrict the market. This initiative represents a significant step forward for key sectors integral to economic growth and national defense, offering an alternative to traditional manufacturing constraints.
“As we say at Nikon SLM®, our mission is to empower our customers mission. We’re excited to support Valiant Product Inc in going large, going fast and changing the status quo for lead times in the markets they serve.” remarks Garett Purdon, Vice President of Sales, Americas, from Nikon SLM Solutions.
The alliance between Nikon SLM Solutions and Valiant Products reflects a mutual dedication to continual technological advancement and customer-centric innovation. Valiant's decision to incorporate Nikon SLM Solutions' NXG XII 600 into its workflow is a testament to the trust and confidence in the capabilities that Nikon's technology offers.
"We constantly seek out advanced manufacturing technologies to ensure our customers have access to the best capabilities for producing the most complex designs. SLM Solutions' NXG technology unlocks new manufacturing possibilities, enabling us to better serve our customers and address urgent market needs." Remarks Dale Meskimen, Manufacturing General Manager for, Valiant Products Inc.:
